The Manix 2 Salt C101GMCBKP2 is the all-black version of Spyderco's Manix 2 in the Salt Series, built with highly corrosion-resistant materials for use in and around the water. A black DLC-coated CPM MagnaCut blade pairs with black G-10 scales and black-coated, corrosion-resistant liners, clip, and hardware.
CPM MagnaCut is a powder metallurgy stainless steel from Crucible Industries, designed to combine edge retention, toughness, and very high corrosion resistance, a mix that's hard to find in one steel. It resists rust from salt water, sweat, and humidity while holding a working edge. The 0.125" drop point blade is full-flat ground for clean slicing, and a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating adds a hard, non-reflective surface layer on top of the steel's own corrosion resistance.

The Manix 2 Salt uses Spyderco's Ball Bearing Lock. When the blade opens, a spring-loaded ball bearing moves into place between the blade tang and the stop pin, wedging the blade securely open. To close, pull back the bearing's release tab on the spine of the handle and fold the blade, keeping your fingers clear of the edge. The lock works the same for left- and right-handed users.
