The Military 2 Salt C36GMCBKP2 is the all-black version of Spyderco's Military 2 in the Salt Series, built with highly corrosion-resistant materials for use in and around salt water. A black DLC-coated CPM MagnaCut blade pairs with black G-10 scales and black-coated, corrosion-resistant liners, clip, and hardware.
CPM MagnaCut is a powder metallurgy stainless steel designed to combine edge retention, toughness, and very high corrosion resistance, a mix that's hard to find in one steel. Hardened to 60-63 HRC, it holds a working edge through long days of use and resists rust from salt water, sweat, and humidity. The 0.145" blade is full-flat ground for clean slicing, and a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating adds a hard, non-reflective surface layer on top of the steel's own corrosion resistance.
