The MicroJimbo C264CFP is Michael Janich's Yojimbo 2 scaled down to a 2.45" pocket folder, keeping the critical proportions of the full-size design. This Sprint Run pairs it with CPM S90V steel and solid carbon fiber scales.
CPM S90V is a high-vanadium particle metallurgy stainless steel. In practice, it keeps cutting cardboard, tape, and cord long after many common EDC steels have gone dull, and it resists rust well in everyday carry. Spyderco hardens it to 60-62 HRC and gives the 0.145" blade a full-flat grind with a satin finish, so the straight Wharncliffe edge slices cleanly right out to the point. The trade-off is sharpening: diamond or CBN abrasives make the job much easier when it finally needs attention.

What lock does the Spyderco MicroJimbo C264CFP use?＋
The MicroJimbo uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the stainless steel liners nested inside the carbon fiber scales. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
How does the MicroJimbo compare to the Yojimbo 2?＋
Michael Janich designed the Yojimbo 2, and the MicroJimbo scales it down while keeping the critical dimensional relationships of the larger knife. That includes the straight Wharncliffe edge with the point in line with the edge, which gives precise control for opening packages, breaking down boxes, and detail cuts. The MicroJimbo carries that geometry in a 2.45-inch blade and a 3.80-inch closed length.
Is CPM S90V hard to sharpen?＋
CPM S90V is high in vanadium carbides, which is why it holds an edge so long, and also why it takes more work to sharpen than common EDC steels. Diamond or CBN stones work best. Regular light touch-ups on a fine diamond hone keep it cutting without heavy reprofiling.
