The Para 3 Lightweight C223SBBK takes Spyderco's best-selling Para 3 and builds it with injection-molded FRN scales and a streamlined Compression Lock, which Spyderco says makes it almost 30 percent lighter than the G-10 version. This all-black edition has a black DLC CTS-BD1N blade with a fully serrated SpyderEdge.
CTS-BD1N is an American stainless steel with added nitrogen, which helps it hold a keen edge while resisting rust. The 0.145" blade is full-flat ground and finished with a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating for a non-reflective look. The fully serrated SpyderEdge grips and cuts rope, webbing, and cordage where a plain edge tends to slide.
