The GiantMouse ACE Clyde has more personality than most knives in its price range — and that is entirely by design. Named after The Clyde Common, a favorite Portland watering hole located inside the ACE Hotel, this knife was conceived as Scandinavia meets Japan with a flirt of Persian influence. The result is a folder with clean, confident lines that looks deceptively compact in the pocket and feels surprisingly capable in the hand. The red aluminum version brings bold color to what is already a bold design, and it wears it well. The handle looks smaller than it feels, and the ergonomics may surprise you given its simple lines.

The 3-inch blade is ground from Böhler N690 stainless steel, a tough, high-performance alloy known for strong edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance, finished to a clean satin that shows the steel rather than hiding it. The upswept trailing point profile is one of the most distinctive blade geometries in the GiantMouse lineup — it gives the Clyde its signature fang-like silhouette while delivering a piercing tip and a long, curved belly that handles slicing tasks with authority. A single black anodized thumb stud opens the blade smoothly on bronze washers, giving the Clyde a deliberate, classic manual action that feels more intentional than a flipper. The liner lock provides solid blade retention during use.
